Where I am Led - Part 16 - Stillness (by Julala)

In this part of the "Where I am Led" series we will take some time to consider......stillness.....

(Members of the over-thinkers club will be especially welcomed to attend this one) *grins*

Consider for a moment...... would your relationship (or your life) be improved if you just stopped for a moment....stopped.....listened, watched, absorbed, enjoyed.

“Feel your emotions, Live true your passions, Keep still your mind.”
― Geoffrey M. Gluckman

Perhaps you wish your submissive would just slow down.  Perhaps you wish your Dominant would slow you down....perhaps they do.  I, for one freely admit to being guilty of racing ahead of myself (it usually ends with me tripping and falling on my face).

Can D/s....and BDSM...offer solace in its alternate space?  What do I mean by that?  If you have had a stressful day and your mind is tense, racing and your body is weary...can your role within your D/s relationship take you away to someplace else?  Can the giving or receiving of a spanking (for example) stop your mind from its whizzing frenzy and quite literally snap it into a peaceful state?  Perhaps being bound in ropes helps you to visualize that it is time to....just...stop...and..."be".

“The point is that when I see a sunset or a waterfall or something, for a split second it's so great, because for a little bit I'm out of my brain, and it's got nothing to do with me. I'm not trying to figure it out, you know what I mean? And I wonder if I can somehow find a way to maintain that mind stillness.”
― Chris Evans

I have heard submissives say that by giving control to their Dominant they find that they feel a peacefulness....like their role itself within a D/s dynamic offers some kind of.....stillness.

As always, as time allows we will also ponder a "thought for the day" and this week we will stoke some thoughts about going to the edge and what that means to you.

These Monday discussions are using the service exploration workbook "Where I am Led" by Christina Parker as a point of reference. However, you do not need to have read or even seen the book to fully participate in the discussion.

Everyone welcome. Please do join us on Monday (14th January) at 12pm SLT at the Temple of Discussion on Respect sim. Discussion is voice led but text also very welcome.

I have been practicing stillness of the mind, and combined with forgiveness, have found it the most liberating of all growth stimulants I have yet to experience.
