Where I am Led - Part 14 - Growth (by Julala)

We often talk of our "journeys" through D/s, and through life in general.  We've already spoken much about learning and understanding in earlier sessions...so now...on these journeys of learning and understanding....where are we led?  How do we grow as we travel our paths?

Growth

Does a D/s relationship give more opportunity for growth? Why?  Do we become "better people"?  Do we expand our horizons?  Grow intellectually? Cognitively? Emotionally?  Would we not do those things as effectively in a vanilla relationship?

Last week we asked what are the things that make us consider a relationship a successful one....and certainly growth was considered by some to be a vital component.  If we don't see growth in ourselves and our partners...does this mean the relationship is failing in some way?

In contrast....when a person grows...how likely is it that they will outgrow the relationship?   Are you guilty of holding your partner back for fear of them growing away from you?  Do you restrict your own ability to grow by allowing the past to hold you back?

How much does growth rely on pushing (or being pushed ) out from our own comfort zones? And how do you manage the delicate balance needed when encouraging your partner to expand those comfort zones?  Do submissives often put too much responsibility on their Dominants to foster their own growth?  Is it appropriate for a submissive to consider or influence the growth of their Dominant?

As time permits we'll also pick up the "thought of the day" that we missed last week, which considers when (and if) it is appropriate for a submissive or slave to be seen and not heard.

These Monday discussions are using the service exploration workbook "Where I am Led" by Christina Parker as a point of reference. However, you do not need to have read or even seen the book to fully participate in the discussion.

Everyone welcome.  Please do join us on Monday (17th Dec) at 12pm SLT at the Temple of Discussion on Respect sim.  Discussion is voice led but text also very welcome.
